What we record, and why.

This site is run by Morgan's Lawn & Landscape, a residential landscape company serving Lafayette Parish and the surrounding parishes. “We” and “us” on this page mean Morgan's Lawn & Landscape. To ask about anything here, email morganslawnandlandscape@gmail.com.

To quote a property we need its address. To book a visit we need a name and a way to reach you — an email address, a phone number, or both. If you tell us about gate codes, pets, or where the water shut-off is, we keep that so the crew arrives knowing it.

We use it to do the work: measure, price, schedule, turn up, invoice, and answer you afterwards. We do not sell it, and we do not hand it to anyone whose job is to advertise to you.

Your quote is measured from public aerial imagery and public parish parcel records for the address you type — not from anything on your device. Nobody flies over your house because you opened this page.

An estimator does the measuring, corrects it where the imagery is wrong, and prices the work by hand before anything is sent to you. Nothing you submit produces a price on its own.

When you tap a link in one of our social posts, it goes through this site first (a /s/… address) and then on to the page you asked for. On the way through we set one first-party cookie, ml_attribution, so that if you later ask for a quote we know which post it was.

It holds five things, for your first visit through such a link and your most recent:

• the channel — always social today;
• which platform the link was posted on;
• identifiers for the post and the campaign;
• the page on this site you landed on;
• the date and time you arrived.

That is the whole of it. There is no name, no email address, no phone number and no identifier that follows you anywhere else — the cookie is ours alone, it is not readable by JavaScript in your browser, it is not sent to other sites, and it expires 90 days after your last visit. Clearing your cookies removes it, and nothing on the site stops working if you do: you will simply get the credit for finding us on your own.

If a neighbour shares their referral link with you, following it sets a second first-party cookie, mlc_ref, holding nothing but their referral code. It is there so that when you ask us for a quote we can credit them, and it lasts 30 days. Like the one above it is not readable by JavaScript, is never sent to another site, and clearing your cookies removes it — the only consequence is that your neighbour does not get the credit.

We count how many people tapped each post, which means telling two taps apart without knowing who either person is. So the redirect above stores a one-way hash of your IP address and browser, mixed with a secret that changes every day — never the address or the browser string itself. The result cannot be turned back into either, it cannot be matched against yesterday's, and all it is used for is to avoid counting one person twice in a day. We also keep a coarse note of the kind of browser (say “mobile Safari”), and we mark and discard the automated crawlers that fetch every link a platform sees. Crawlers are given no cookie at all.

There are no third-party analytics, advertising, or session-recording scripts on this site.

Messages about work you have asked for — a quote, a booking confirmation, a crew on the way, an invoice, a receipt — are part of the job, and we email them to the address you gave us. Marketing is separate: our campaign emails carry a one-click unsubscribe, we record that choice against you so nothing further goes out, and you can ask us by email to stop any other marketing. Asking us to stop marketing never stops the messages about your actual work.

Texts are optional. We use your mobile number to text you only if you tick the box asking for texts about your quote and your visits; we record that choice with your request, and you can change it from your account or by replying STOP to any text (HELP for help). Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. The Text messaging section of our terms describes the messages.

We do not sell or share your mobile number or text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.

The people who have to, to do the job you asked for: our own staff and crews, and the services we run on. Each sees only what its part needs, and none of them is given your information to advertise with:

• Supabase — our database and file storage (including photos you upload), and the sign-in links for your account.
• Vercel — hosts this website and runs our scheduled jobs.
• Anthropic (Claude), reached through Vercel's AI Gateway — AI that helps our estimators trace the aerial image of your property and read the notes in your request, and sorts comments left on our social media posts. The photos you upload are not sent to it.
• Google — Google Maps Platform for address lookup, maps, aerial and street-level imagery of the property, and crew routes; and Gemini to draw design concept images for design-build proposals.
• Resend — delivers our emails.
• Twilio — delivers our text messages.
• Stripe — takes card payments and keeps any card you save; we never see or store your full card number.
• Facebook (Meta) — where we post about our work. A photo of your property, or your name and review, appears there only with your permission.
• Public records and data services — the property's location is looked up in public parish parcel records, in public weather services (the National Weather Service and Open-Meteo) to plan visits around the weather, and, where we have switched them on, public flood-map and elevation data (FEMA and USGS).
